For some reason I had never thought to seek out a repo from Plex and have been manually updating all of this time. Just a little quality of life improvement to help keep you on the latest version of Plex Media Server.

You can now see that after running sudo apt update, Plex comes up in the list. Plex Media Server on Ubuntu/Fedora/CentOS systems runs in context of user plex. Then add the key: curl | sudo apt-key add - Download plex from the website Go to Downloads folder Install plex: sudo dpkg -i plexmediaserver0.9.7.22.b change user to you instead of plex: sudo nano /etc/default/plexmediaserver Run once localhost:32400/web/index.
